The cervix is the lowest part of the womb, called the uterus. It opens to the vagina. Cervix is very easy to get infections and even cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers of women through out the world. You should know about cervical health info to reduce the risk of cervical cancer. Your risk of cervical cancer is depends on your sexual history, your immune system, your health and your life style. Cervical cancer often have no symptoms but but the signs include spotting, abnormal vagina bleeding, problems urinating, swollen legs and bleeding after sex. If the symptoms can be detected as early as possible, cervix cancer can be cured.
To prevent cervical cancer:
1.      Girls and women ages 9-26 should get Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. The vaccine is not recommended for pregnant women. The long term effects of this vaccine on fertility are not known.
2.      Get regular pap test to detect cancer early so it can be anticipated and treated. Pap test also can find changes in the cervix when it still precancerous. It is the only gynecological cancer. Currently, that can be prevented and still can be cured through routine screening.
3.      Safe sex. Don’t do sex with multiple partners or use condom.
4.      Do not smoke! Women who smoke are over two times more at risk of getting cervical cancer than women who do not smoke. Smoking exposes your body to cancer causing chemical that can demage the DNA of cervical cells and and allow them to contracting the HPV virus.
5.      Consuming a lot of vegetables and fruits. When you don’t eat many vegetables and fruits you will miss out on protective antioxidants and phytocemicals to help prevent not only cervical cancer, but also other forms of cancer.
