American Bobtail Cat Breed is another cat breed in the word. This cat’s original appearance genetics were modified in the breed to form a new and improved breed which comes in all colors, categories and divisions.

The American Bobtail is a relatively new and especial breed of cat which has came out since the late 1960s. American bobtails are a really sturdy breed, with both short or longhaired coats. It’s most famous for its stubby “bobbed” tail approximately one-third to one-half the length of a normal cat’s tail.

This is the answer of a cat body type genetic mutation impacting the tail evolution, related to that of a Manx. The cat is not related to the Japanese Bobtail despite the similar name and physical type – the breeding programs are completely unrelated and the gene making the mutation is dissimilar because the gene causing the American Bobtail’s tail is dominating, whereas the Japanese Bobtail tail gene is recessive.

The Aegean cat is a naturally occurring breed of cat originating from the Cycladic Islands of Greece. its development was started by the breeders in fledgling Greek Cat Fancy in early 1990.

Cats (Felis sylvestris catus), known in Ancient Egypt as the mau, played a large role in ancient Egyptian society. Beginning as a wild, untamed species, cats were useful for keeping down vermin populations in the Egyptians’ crops and harvests; through exposure to humans, the cat population became domesticated over time and learned to coexist with the human population. The people inhabiting the area which would later become unified and known as Upper and Lower Egypt had a religion centering around the worship of animals, of which the cat became one.

Originally praised for its aid to humans in controlling vermin and its ability to fight and kill snakes (such as cobras), the domesticated cat slowly became a symbol of grace and poise. The goddess Mafdet, the deification of justice and execution, was a fierce lion-headed goddess. The cat goddess Bast (also known as Bastet) eventually replaced the cult of Mafdet, and Bast’s image softened over time and she became the deity representing protection, fertility, and motherhood.

Cats In Egypt

As a revered animal and one very important to Egyptian society and religion, the cat was afforded the same mummification after death as humans. Mummified cats were given in offering to Bast; in 1888, an Egyptian farmer accidentally uncovered a large tomb containing tens of thousands of mummified cats and kittens. This discovery outside the town of Beni Hasan contained around eighty thousand cat mummies, dating back to 1000-2000 BC.
